Skunks

skunks

The biggest problem with skunks as everybody knows, is the smell! More often than not, skunks are more noticeable by their smell rather than by actually seeing them. In areas where a skunk has sprayed, the odor may persist for days.

Skunk activity can be identified not only by their odor, by the appearance of cone shaped digging in the yard. This is grub activity. The cone shaped digging will appear about the size of a golf ball at the surface and dwindle down to a point a couple of inches into the soil. Skunks can enter under any building or woodpile that has a hole the size of a baseball or larger.

Skunks are also carriers of distemper and rabies.
